Level IV is reserved for individuals
who are resolutely or actively involved in the biblical counseling
field either on an individual or ministerial basis. Entry into
this level of training requires the approval and invitation of
the CLM staff-trainers. The emphasis at this level
of training is to provide “hands on” experience to
the apprentice through observation of counseling sessions conducted
by the CLM staff. The apprentice will then be encouraged to display
their own counseling skills through conducting counseling under
the observation of CLM staff-trainers. Evaluations and guidance
will be provide to further develop the counseling skills of the
apprentice.
The training required is individualized
based on the trainee’s background, experiences in the counseling
field and level of study attained. In general, a minimum of at
least 12 weeks of full time on-site observation and training
is required with intermittent follow-up observation and consultations
for at least one year.
One-on-one teaching is provided
for the trainee based on their individual needs. The practical
needs of each apprentice will be addressed by the construction
of an individualized training program.
