Altstiel
Michael
Altstiel was born in Eastern South Dakota and then raised in Sturgis,
South Dakota. Michael became a believer in October of 1988 under
the leadership of his parents. He graduated from Colorado Christian
University in May 1998 with a B.S. in Biology and a double minor
in Biblical Studies and Psychology.While attending the university
he interned at the Denver Rescue Mission for one year facilitating
group dynamics, case management, and chemical dependency counseling.
He then began his training at CLM the summer of 1998. In January
of 2000 Michael became a staff member of CLM. He was ordained in
2003 by Christ Community Ministries.
Michael was a team member of the counseling team sent to New York
City in the 9-11 tragedy of 2001. He also has worked along side the
Samaritan’s Purse
and the Billy Graham Evangelical Association during Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane
Rita.
Michael has a passion for his family including his lovely wife Leah and
his two beautiful daughters. He enjoys speaking at retreats and conferences
and has a heart for today’s youth. Michael also has a passion for premarital counseling.
He is a full time counselor in Rapid City, and is also counseling at a satellite
office in Spearfish one day a week. Michael’s heart beats for sharing the
message of abiding in the Vine with as many people as possible.
