How
We Are Supported

The expenses of Christian Life Ministries are funded by four primary sources:
1. Fundraising provides 40-45% of our annual income. Our annual golf tournament is held in the spring and rotates to different courses in the Black Hills area. The second fundraising event is our annual "Vision Dinner", which is held in the fall.
2. Income from classes and the sale of materials accounts for approximately 10% of our annual income.
3. Each counselor at CLM contributes a portion of their income monthly to help with ministry expenses. Those counseling full-time contribute $500 and part-time counselors contribute $250. These funds account for approximately 35% of CLM's annual income.
4. The remaining 10-15% of our annual income is provided by the monthly, quarterly or annual giving from generous individuals who believe in and desire to promote the ministry of Christian Life Ministries.
Each counselor at CLM is funded through two sources.
1. Each counselor is responsible for raising a support base much like overseas missionaries. This base is their primary income.
2. The second income source comes from counseling fees. Since the policy of CLM is to have no set fee for counseling but operate on a donation basis, this source of income can fluctuate greatly. If a counselor is sick, on vacation, on holiday leave or a ministry project the counseling fees are not received. Each counselor is responsible for both halves of their social security, the monthly CLM contribution, and their own expenses including insurances. Because of these factors each counselor's support base is crucial.
The front office (non-counseling) staff is paid an hourly wage, which may be supplemented by raising a support base as well. All are part-time and also receive no "benefits."
